Today's Goal
- 2 mile run
Ok, ok, ok. I missed exercising the past few days. I was on my feet for 10 - 12 hours the past few days at work, and then I was caught up in some book. You know, the brain is a muscle too right? Well, the trash I read probably didn't help anything, but I was caught up in it)
Today is the first football game of the season. Kate's got Badger tickets, but I'm not going with her. Instead I'm going to go home and hang out with The Mitten and go for a jog.
Things got better after the game ended. We had a friend celebrating his birthday at a board game store this afternoon. Who knew you could just go in the back room of a store and try out all their merchandise?
Walking in this place was certainly an experience. First we saw our friends wrapping up a game of knights or something at their table. Next to them was a table of pre-teen boys, some people playing a card game, and finally more of what I was expecting in the first place (a table playing Dungeons and Dragons).
I had time to sit and watch the D&D for a bit. I actually want to learn how to play now. Is that a thing you can learn on the internet, or do I have to find friends to play with in person?
Oh well, when I got to play board games we played something pretty neat, Lords of Waterdeep. The board pieces looked like the symbol on the bathroom doors. I thought that was funny, but the girl explaining glared at me. It took a lot of explaining to get started, but we were blazing through things after the first round. Plus after the birthday boy showed up, he made some crack about the board game men also. (Oh, and I won. Obvi)
Game day certainly lived up to its name. In case you are wondering the Badger's won too, something like 37-3.
Next workout:
- Some kind of cross training on Monday
