Today's Workout:- Tennis with Jake
Today weighs heavy on my heart; The Pack play my boi (and future next door neighbor) Payton, and both teams have an undefeated record up till this point. At least it is easy knowing who to cheer for tonight, thanks to my incessant list making (Go Pack Go!).
...Realistically, I'll probably cheer for the offense, but at least I'll be wearing green and gold.

| But can it run? |
Usually football rivalries divide households, but my personal, internal division has brought some clarity to this house. When I started this blog, it was with the goal of running the Green Bay marathon and standing on the Landmark Lambeau field in accomplishment. I've lost sight of that goal while being too focused on work, trying too be too funny, or just being too downright lazy.
It is time to set some smaller milestones, starting with training for a holiday 5k. I'm not sure where or what race to participate in, but I'll look into that the next couple days.
In addition to smaller athletic goals, I'm setting aside 3 other areas of attention necessary to make this happen. I'll focus on each of these areas at different times, but not all at once. I'm no boa constrictor so swallowing this elephant whole is not realistic. (Sorry, been studying Project Management for a while, so these painful metaphors are at the front of my mind right now.) The areas of focus are
- Nutrition - Constant traveling the past 6 years mean my fridge is full of beer and condiments, but lacking anything perishable or even edible. Better eating habits will be hard to get used to, do you know how much work it is to shop, cook, and clean up? Groan.
- Motivation - Not having a job or reason to leave the house makes it really hard to leave the house. I thought I was going to accomplish so many things while being unemployed. WRONG. I mostly play silly video games on my phone and watch anime. Talking myself out of exercising has been simple, so getting up and sweating will take some coaxing.
- Schedule / Life Organization - Hands down, this will be the easiest. Since leaving Epic I cleaned my house for a week. ...Wait, I did clean my house for a week, but never finished the last bits of organization. First, I need to finish PMP studying, but starting next week I will have even more opportunities to do nothing. Sticking to a schedule of job applications and language studies will be the goal, also leaving the house to work at a coffee shop might help.

| No, Run away! Run away! |
Since shoes (specifically sneakers) are a fetish of mine, I've already started with the motivation. While cleaning all corners of my house, I found a pair of awesome cross country spikes from high school. These shoes represent a time when I was good at running and full of hope about, well, lots of things. I set these shoes out so I see them countless times a day while walking through my house. Next I need to invent a mantra to say when I acknowledge the spikes. Kind of like training to lucid dream, this will be my trigger.

Oh, did I mention that these spikes are like a rainbow tie-dye? Hard to believe I had boyfriends in high school (or even some parts of college).
Tomorrow I plan to start easy with some grocery shopping and bike riding. First day of running happens Tuesday!
