The Leg Bone's Connected to the Reverse Achilles Heel

Today's Workout:
 - 3 mile journey
 - 45 min yoga

In my time between full time jobs, I've decided to tutor as an intelligent way to keep busy. Today my bio got approved by WyzAnt.com, which means I can start working through their site to find people who might want to work with me! I've decided to focus on mostly math and science, since I am typically pretty smart at those subjects or sub-subjects. Most of the morning was spent finishing the required proficiency exams for the topics I was interested in. (As you can tell by the dangling preposition, I did not even attempt the English exam.)

This left my brain pretty tired so I was rearing to get up and move about, at about 2:30 in the afternoon on a 90 degree day. I hardly noticed the heat while I poorly doing yoga under the shade of a crabapple tree. This was lovely place to exercise through "relaxing stretches". There was a nice breeze, mostly flat ground, shade (obviously), and then the bumblebee. I kept moving around the yard. Annnd, the bee seems interested in following me. I tried distracting the bee with some pears, and then some crabapples, and finally I decided to give up on yoga.

Thank you bee! (I don't really like the stretching).

Continuing to be unaware of the 90 degree weather, I started my 3 mile journey at about 3 o'clock. Immediately, I was not feeling as strong as the day before. Only running about three fourths of a mile before stopping to suck in some air. Now I was feeling the heat, and I wasn't a third of the way finished yet. Persevering, I was pleased to be running / walking at a pace about 2 mins faster than yesterday.

If only that had kept up past the half way point. My reverse Achilles heel (the top part of my foot where the foot meets the tibia. I'm certain that is the technical name for it.) was getting really tight. My lungs and heart were up to the task of more running, but the cement pounding against my feet was too much. I guess more yoga or stretching might be called for.

Tomorrow, I head to New Mexico with Stacy to visit her Grandma. It will be my first trip to that state, but I am going to have to work out early in the morning. In case you forgot, this is not a real strong point of mine (as evidence in the short post and lack of editing.) Might have to make it the goal for October.

Tomorrow's Goal:
 - Early Morning Body Weight Stuff
